Meros Beach

Grouper Beach

The whiteness of the fine sand contrasts with the green of the forest and sea, providing Praia dos Meros with one of the most beautiful views on Ilha Grande. The sand seems to spring from the forest and welcomes visitors arriving by sea. In fact, Praia dos Meros is one of the most isolated beaches on the island, accessible only by boat and located on the opposite side of Vila do Abraão.

In the Meros region, there are geological remains of ancient civilizations dating back approximately 3,000 years. These remains are cavities in the rocks, known as "amolars," which were formed by the friction and wear of stones used by our ancestors to sharpen their rudimentary tools. Opposite the beach is Meros Island, which is a great spot for fishing and diving.
