Two Rivers

Two Rivers Beach

Dois Rios Beach enchants with its stunning natural beauty and clear waters, making it one of the most beautiful spots on Ilha Grande. The beach gets its name from the two freshwater rivers that flow at its ends, stretching approximately 1 km.

Its sea is usually quite rough, with frequent waves, providing an ideal environment for fishing and surfing.

The Cândido Mendes prison formerly operated on Dois Rios Beach, which lasted until its deactivation in 1994. Today, the site houses the Prison Museum (Ecomuseum), where visitors can view photos and historical documents from the prison. Dois Rios Beach is adjacent to Caxadaço Beach and is part of the Super Sul Tour Itinerary.
